Rule:  6.5.2.1.b

Synopsis:typedef for an array of unknown size shall not be used.
Language:C
Severity Level:1
Category:Expressions

Description:

Justification

Using a typedef for an array of unknown size can lead to implementation defined behavior. The ANSI standard does not define if or when an unsized array typedef is actually given a size.

Example

typedef int array[];

/* ... */
array x = {1,2}; /* WRONG */
